Cleverfox Celebrates Living Wage Commitment
The Living Wage commitment means that everyone who works at Cleverfox, regardless of whether they are permanent employees or third-party staff; receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.45 in the UK or £9.75 in London. Both of these rates are significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25’s of £7.50 per hour introduced in April 2017.
The real Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. It is calculated according to the real cost of living.
Cleverfox Managing Director, Tim Bunyard, said:
“I believe that the foundation to success is our people. Our employees deliver the service that our customers rely upon, and investing in our people is key to our success. It made perfect sense to me that we showed our commitment to them by becoming an accredited Living Wage employer. I am well aware of the difference the living wage can make to people’s lives. Paying the Living Wage is good for the economy, for business in general, for the individual and our society.”
Employers choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis. The Living Wage enjoys cross party political support.
Living Wage Foundation Director, Katherine Chapman said:
“We welcome Cleverfox to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer. Responsible business across the UK are voluntarily signing up to pay the real Living Wage now. The real Living Wage rate is annually calculated to reflect the real costs of living.
We are a movement of over 3000 UK employers who together want go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on. We have lots of small businesses as well as big household names like: IKEA, Aviva, Chelsea and Everton Football Clubs and many more.
These businesses recognise that the Living Wage accreditation is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Cleverfox join us, because they too believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
